Sue Burke

Literacy Leader

Hello! I’m Sue Burke and I have been teaching at Sacred Heart since 2017. Currently I am the literacy leader which is a role I love! I have been teaching for 20 years and have spent 14 of those years at various schools in the western suburbs. I have teaching experience across all levels as well as with leadership positions. I love teaching and being a part of each student’s learning journey.

My education passion is analysing and interpreting data with a purpose to use it to create engaging tasks to support students’ learning. It’s so rewarding witnessing the pride when understandings are developed. Education is a career I hope to stay in for as long as I can.

I live in Altona with my husband Barry and the ruler of our roost, Billy, our 15 year old Maltese Shih Tzu. My hobbies include craft, reading, baking and shopping!
