Sacramental Program

An essential element of education in the faith is the growth of people in the Christian community and the Sacramental life of the Church

Most of the students in our school have been baptised as infants and are prepared for and celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession), Eucharist and Confirmation  during their years at Sacred Heart School.

The responsibility of the Sacramental journey lies with the family, the parish and the school.  It is through the Sacraments that the students are led more deeply into the mystery of Christ and the Church.  Whilst the students are prepared for each Sacrament at school as part of their Religious Education Program, each of the Sacraments is received within the context of the broader parish community.

The Religious Education Program at Sacred Heart ensures that the Sacraments are an integral part of the Prep to Year Six Program.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated in Year Three.

The Sacrament of First Communion is celebrated in Year Four.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in Year Six.

The R.C.I.C. Process (Rite of Christian Initiation of Children) is available for those families wishing their children to be baptised once they have entered the primary years of schooling.
